I bought the DX7 on a flea market, and it turned out it had a replacement board called the DX MAX(4).

And it looks like this

The chips for MAX

One NEC D27128D with the DX MAX4 sticker on it
- EPROM from NEC -250DC date codes around 1985
- the MAX software is programmed inside it
- NEC is "Nippon Electric Company" (Nippon = Japan in Japanese)
- for consumers, the company is better known under the name Packard Bell

4 pieces of NEC D4364C-15L
- SRAM (Static CMOS RAM) Chips, the Low Power version of the "NEC D4364C-15".
- Each chip has 8 x 8KB memory.

A Motorola sn74ls02n
- a quad 2-input NOR-gate.

A 74ls379pc in plastic DIP (Dual in-line Package)
- this is a quad parallel register.
