Writing a Track
- Each Track from 1 to 7 can memorize a Pattern sequence of 64 Bars.
- Track 8 can memorize a sequence of 256 Bars.
- A maximun of 4 Tracks can be chained, you can never exceed a total of 256 Bars.
- when chainging Tracks: just keep adding Bars to a Track, but keep count of the Bars!
- a Track can only use the 16 Patterns from the selected Pattern Group.
- changing the Pattern Group for a Track will play the other 16 Patterns.
Set the [MODE] switch to TRACK WRITE
the [BAR] button is your friend at any time (see 'Keeping track of the Bar number')
STOP | - set the TRACK switch to a Track number [1..8] - select the desired Pattern Group I or II - the active Bar is most likely not the first Bar of the Track To go to a specific Bar number: - press [BAR RESET] to make 1st Bar the active Bar - press [WRITE/NEXT] to go to the next Bar - jump to a specific Bar using the number buttons (see 'Keeping track of the Bar number') Side notes - only the 16 Patterns from the selected Pattern Group will play. - switching to the other Pattern Group later, will play the entered Pattern number sequence from the newly selected Pattern Group - this means that with some nifty programming, you can have double the number of Tracks (16)! |
RUN | Enter the Patterns into each Bar: - repeat: press the Pattern Number [1..16] and press [WRITE/NEXT] to save the Bar and proceed to the next Bar - entering a chain of 4 Patterns will cost you 4 Bars (see 'pattern write') - for a jump Bar: press the Pattern Number [1..16], press [] and [WRITE/NEXT] - for the last Bar: press the Pattern Number [1..16], press [D.C.] and [WRITE/NEXT] - press [BAR] to check if you're writing in the correct Bar number (see 'Keeping track of the Bar number') - press STOP Some notes on the D.C. and D.S. markers: - if a Bar contains a "jump Bar" marker , you can jump to that Bar during Track Play. - you can only have one "jump Bar" marker in a Track. - the last Bar must always be set with the "last Bar" marker D.C. - when adding Patterns to a Track - don't forget to set the new D.C. marker - "D.C." => Da Capo is a musical term in Italian, meaning start "from the beginning". - "D.S." => Dal Segno is used as a navigation marker, Italian for continue "from the sign": The TR-606 will always loop during Track Play, that is why you have to set a D.C. marker at the last Bar. Tip: want to end in silence? - make an empty Pattern and set it as the last Bar with the D.C. marker. - during Track Play: press STOP when the last Bar is playing. |
