When you have created one or more Patterns, the DS-10 is very suitable to be used as a groovebox.
Live tweaking of the Patterns while they play.

Screens that can be used for the groovbox function. The "SOLO" buttons are available on all of these screens. The Mute on some of them:
- SYNTH
- MIXER
- PIANO Keyboard
- KAOSS Pad 1, 2 and 3
- PATTERNS SCREEN

First, press the Play button (X on the Directional Pad) to start Playing the currently selected Pattern.
The green part of the screen can be edited live, without stopping Pattern Play.
- the MENU button takes you out of this Session.
- Pattern Playing is stopped in SONG and DRUMS mode.

SYNTH
You can tweak the traditionally very tweakable VCF CUTOFF/PEAK combo for filtering the sound in and out of funkyness.
The S-button (SOLO) can be tapped to Solo the synth on and off.

MIXER
The Mute and Solo are available in the mixer, for whipping Tracks in and out of existence.
Or fade in the Tracks with the Volume slider during Pattern Play.

PIANO Keyboard
The Piano keyboard has precedence over the Sequencer, so you can use it to imporovise with the Synth.

KAOSS Pad 1: NOTE and GATE
The KAOSS Pad also has precedence over the Sequencer.
Even better: you can select a Note scale for KAOSS Pad 1.

This is the list from the manual of the available scales:

KAOSS Pad 2: VOLUME and PAN
With Pad 2 you can change the Volume and Pan of the Track.

KAOSS Pad 3: PEAK and CUTOFF
In stead of opening the Synth screen to tweak the VCF, you can also use the KAOSS Pad.
You can even change the Synth Parameter you want to tweak with the Pad, see below for the list.

PATTERNS SCREEN
Switch to different Patterns and live Solo/Mute the Pattern Tracks.
Make sure you switch on the LOCK button, so the next Pattern plays after the current one is finished.
